Volunteers

The South Central PA OCC Team consists entirely of volunteers. Nobody gets paid, except in the very real and abundant rewards of wonderful Christian fellowship and the satisfaction of doing a worthwhile work for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

There are two "sets" of volunteers. Most work during Collection Week and the weeks prior to and just after it, or during other relatively short periods, doing tasks like these:

• helping to promote the preparation of shoebox gifts in their local churches or organizations
• assisting in one or more of the area's fund-raising projects
• helping in one of the Relay locations during National Collection Week
• helping in the Area Collection Center
• traveling to the Regional Processing Center in Charlotte to work on the processing lines.

A smaller number are involved in year-round tasks that are vital to generating an abundant collection. There are always plenty of opportunities to serve at this level. These folks lead or serve on teams focusing on prayer, church relations, community relations, media relations, and collections.
